International Kickboxing
International kickboxing is the combination of the Muay Thai which is also known as Thai kickboxing and Japanese Kickboxing rules. There are three different disciplines for international kickboxing, semi contact, light contact and full contact. Semi contact kick boxing is discipline when two fighters fight to have the maximum scores to win the fight using controlled legal techniques with speed and focus. Delivery, technique and speed are major characteristics for semi contact fighting. The fight should be executed with in true sense of and well-controlled contact.
In semi contact techniques and punches are strictly controlled. When we talk about light contact competition, the fighters fight until central referee commands for STOP or Break. The techniques used in the semi contact are from full contact but they are highly controlled. The basic focus in semi contact is punching and kicking with in a controlled way. One can consider the light contact fight as a middle stage between semi contact competition and full contact competition. The central referee never judges the fighters but he looks that whether fighters are following the rules or not. Full contact is the final competition where both of the fighters try to defeat the opponent with their full power to win the competition. But still there are set of rules for kicks and punches and targets are defined for the kicks and punches. Kicks and punches are allowed to front and side of the head and even sweeping is also allowed for the fighters.
